Champion Inks® UV-1000 Multi-Purpose UV Curable Reducer – Quart – For Viscosity & Flow Control
Fine-tune press performance with UV-1000 Reducer, a one-part, low-odor additive formulated to lower viscosity, improve flow & leveling, and reduce squeegee drag in UV-curable screen inks. Optimized for Champion Inks® UV-1000 series and compatible UV screen systems, this reducer helps eliminate orange peel, fisheyes, and skip marks—while maintaining cure integrity and adhesion when used as directed.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Controlled Viscosity Reduction – Enhances flow without over-thinning your ink body.
-
Smoother Laydown – Levels the ink film to minimize streaks and surface defects.
-
Press Efficiency – Lowers squeegee pressure and heat build-up for longer screen life.
-
Wide System Compatibility – Designed for UV-1000 inks; suitable with most UV screen systems (spot test recommended).
-
Single-Component – Add directly to ink; no catalyst required.
Recommended Use & Mix Ratios
-
General reduction: Add 1–3% by weight to improve flow and printability.
-
Heavy graphics / fine detail: Up to 5% by weight for enhanced leveling.
-
Maximum: Do not exceed 8% by weight—excessive addition can slow cure, reduce gloss, or affect adhesion/chemical resistance.
- Mix thoroughly and test print to confirm adhesion, gloss, and cure before production.
Application Notes
-
UV Dose: Reducers may increase cure latitude requirements; ensure complete UV cure (sufficient intensity and dwell time).
-
Screen Fabrics: Works across typical UV meshes; pair with solvent/UV-resistant emulsions or capillary films.
-
Substrate Range (via ink system): Coated papers, card, ABS, polystyrene, PMMA, top-coated polyester, soft/rigid vinyls (always pre-test).
-
Not for: Water-based or plastisol systems.
